Description
The Revue Internationale de Politique Comparée (RIPC) satisfies a dual need, both theoretical and practical. Developing comparative analysis advances the scientific nature of political science. Comparison allows one to explain the specific effects of political structures and processes independently of their environment. Politics is also becoming increasingly globalized. Comparative politics helps distinguish what is attributable to general behavior, and what to unique national characteristics. In this way it offers decision-makers a stable foundation for developing policies.
The RIPC receives support from the Institut de Science Politique Louvain-Europe (ISPOLE) of the Catholic University of Louvain (Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium), from the IEP of Aix-en-Provence and its Center for Comparative Political Science, from the IEP of Bordeaux and its Center for the Study of Subsaharan Africa, from the IEP of Lille, from the European Governance Research Programme of the University of Luxembourg and from the Catholic University of Lille and its European School of Political and Social Sciences (ESPOL).
The RIPC is published with the participation of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS-Periodicals) and the Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique (FNRS - French Community of Belgium).
Editorial Policy
The editorial committee reviews any proposed thematic collection or individual articles in French that are comparative in nature and likely to contribute to the analysis of political phenomena. Thematic collections and articles report on original scientific research in the social sciences. Proposals must not have previously been published, and must be submitted only to the Revue Internationale de Politique Comparée, which will issue an opinion within a specified time period.
Articles are to be accompanied by abstracts in French and English and by a short biography of the authors.
The Revue Internationale de Politique Comparée is distributed in full on the website http://www.cairn.info/revue-internationale-de-politique-comparee.htm. Authors accept that their article will be published in hardcopy and electronically.

Instructions to Authors
* Thematic Collections of Articles
The coordinator(s) will present a proposed thematic collection of articles including a foreword (4,500 characters) describing the project and its comparative dimension, and an abstract (750 characters) of each article. A thematic collection of articles contains between four and eight articles with a maximum of 350,000 characters, including spaces (but excluding footnotes) that will highlight the comparative nature of the collection. After the editorial committee has given its consent to the project in principle, the collection, in its finalized version, will be evaluated before publication. The final decision as to publication of the collection will be made by the editorial committee.
* Individual Articles
The reading committee determines the acceptability of articles in regard to the journal's editorial policy. Articles selected for evaluation are submitted anonymously for the opinion of two experts not on the editorial committee, whose anonymous reports are also communicated to the authors.
For the evaluation, the following criteria are considered: positioning in relation to available research work; originality of the research’s contribution to subject knowledge and scientific debates; appropriateness of the method to the subject and for demonstration; and editorial rigor. Outside evaluators may accept or reject the article as is, or recommend major or minor modifications to the author. In the latter case, the revised version of the manuscript is submitted a second time to the outside evaluators. The final decision to publish or reject is made by the editorial committee.
The reading committee for individual articles is composed of Stéphanie Dechezelles, Camille Goirand, Lieven De Winter, Nicolas Sauger and Virginie Van Ingelgom.
