Is entrepreneurship education aiming for universality? On one hand, this trend can be observed from the continuous search for approaches and methods that can enable diverse learners to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and obtain the skills to implement all types of entrepreneurial projects. However, in reality, entrepreneurship educators adopt a patchwork of practices and approaches and offer unique ways to teaching and reaching learning objectives.
Over the past 20 years, Entrepreneurial Education has faced several shifts in thinking: “let’s kill the Business Plan”, “let’s decapitate the business opportunity”, “the ‘new venture idea’ will rule them all”, “the truth is in the lean startup”, and that “effectuation principles will take over”. During this time, the entrepreneurship education practitioners with their experience and researchers with their theoretical contributions have amassed knowledge about entrepreneurship and its complexity. This knowledge about entrepreneurship serves as a foundation for diverse methods and approaches that help educators teach entrepreneurship to future entrepreneurs. We see a dynamic field of Entrepreneurial Education characterized by a plurality of methods and pathways to achieving entrepreneurial and growing mindsets. However, each educator has the opportunity to develop an individual approach based on what we know about this phenomenon.
Therefore, it is with great pleasure that we introduce this new section in our journal, which will highlight the diversity of approaches by giving voice to entrepreneurship educators from all over the world…
